We’re spotlighting our Edelman Culture Champions, individuals recognized by their peers for exceptional dedication, positivity, and contributions to fostering a supportive workplace environment. These champions play a pivotal role in cultivating a culture where every voice is heard and valued. This edition of Inside Edelman features profiles of these outstanding colleagues from our U.S. offices, showcasing their efforts to uphold Edelman’s values of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).

Tell us about your Edelman journey.

I joined Edelman just days after graduating from the University of Florida, where the firm came highly recommended by my journalism professors.

Since then, I’ve worked across pharma, health systems, government agencies – even for a NFL team owner’s personal project. But I found a passion early in executive visibility. I love helping leaders shape their narratives and show up in ways that feel bold, authentic, and human. That’s part of the work that keeps me energized every day in my current role.

You were nominated for Culture Champion by your colleagues – how do you foster a collaborative and respectful culture within your team?

Whether remote or in person, I believe people-first connection makes the work better. I try to create spaces – like our Southeast Health meetings, Exec Vis check-ins, or AI working groups – where people feel seen, supported, and safe to show up as themselves. I also find joy in the little things: celebrating wins, making time for conversations, and learning new skills from others.

How does your personal background play a role in your professional life?

Everyone who works with me knows I love to connect and chat. Whether it’s swapping Taylor Swift theories or discussing whatever show has us hooked, I bring my full self to work. That authenticity helps me build strong relationships, which in turn makes the work better. Having mentors and helping hands along the way has also shaped how I collaborate and lead – I’ve always felt supported, and I try to give that same energy back.

When you think about the future of Edelman, what does it look like for you?

To me, the future of Edelman is grounded in curiosity and care. The tools and ways we work will keep evolving, especially with AI in the mix, but the way we show up for each other will always be at the center. Edelman is full of truly special people, and I hope we continue to invest in that people-first mindset.

You recently stepped into a new role as the Deputy Health Lead for the Southeast. What made you want to take this position, and what will you be working on?

I’ve always cared about connection, especially as a remote employee. When Alissa Hinkson asked me to step up, I saw it as an opportunity to help build and nurture community across our region. I’ve been focused on spotlighting team members, discussing our specialty practices, and helping lead conversations around what’s next in health – from AI innovation to new business momentum. I even designed our team logo which is now on coffee mugs across the Southeast!

Blair Colson is a Senior Account Executive on the Health team based in Atlanta.
