As part of the launch of the Wakii initiative, the winners of the Luum Awards had the opportunity to feed, bathe and hear the stories of elephants rescued by the Elephants World Sanctuary in Thailand. On October 25, Wakii volunteered with Paper Ranger, a Bangkok-based NGO that created notebooks out of recycled paper that are then donated to boys and girls from low-income area, often provinces that have been affected by natural disasters. This inspiring project supports education while taking care of the environment. During our volunteer experience, we helped make the notebooks. Paper Ranger uses sheets of paper donated by offices, which still have a blank side. The paper is folded and sewn manually into notebooks.
