Recycled Materials Used for Stuffed Toys and Architecture

Nowadays, design doesn’t just respond to aesthetics – it also responds to environmental impact.

The brand Pierreplume has developed a new line, “Plush ,” which transforms discontinued plush toys into acoustic coatings that work for architecture and interior design. More than a product, it is a recycling system: the first focused exclusively on this type of waste.

In France, more than 5,000 tons of stuffed animals are discarded every year. Faced with this volume, the proposal not only seeks to reuse, but also to redefine the material. From these toys, surfaces are developed in soft tones, mainly pink and brown. Due to their fibrous composition, they absorb sound and improve acoustics in designated spaces.

What sets this proposal apart is not just the recycling component, but also, its meaning. Each panel comes from objects that once had an emotional value. Instead of disappearing, they become part of the everyday environment.
