During a residency at WASP in June 2025, Manufactura developed a new material called CORNCRETL, a biomaterial created with a robotic 3D printer with a KUKA arm. The material connects Mexico\u2019s pre-Hispanic construction knowledge with the material traditions of northern Italy, by combining recycled derivatives of nejayote\u2014a byproduct of maize processing\u2014with Carrara limestone and marble powder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The result? Three walls of different dimensions that showcase the material\u2019s versatility and that propose a more circular construction model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This development poses a possible paradigm shift in the construction industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The question is inevitable: can CORNCRETL replace concrete?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
