Its ellipsoidal structure is clad in around 9,500 stainless-steel panels that evoke the silvery scales of a fish while reflecting the changing light and colors of the fjord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside is Iris, designed by <strong>Norm Architects<\/strong>. This is where one of the project\u2019s most striking contrasts emerges: while the exterior is defined by steel and a futuristic appearance, the interiors rely on materials, textures and forms designed to create a warmer, more intimate atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tomilli.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/image-11-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4968152866242037;width:581px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Im\u00e1genes v\u00eda: Norm Architects<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Images via Norm Architects<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Getting to the restaurant is also part of the experience. Guests depart from Rosendal aboard an electric boat and travel across the fjord. The journey includes a stop at chef <strong>Anika Madsen\u2019s boathouse<\/strong>, where the culinary experience begins before guests even arrive at Salmon Eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concept is called <strong>\u201cExpedition Dining\u201d<\/strong>: an approach in which the journey, landscape, architecture and gastronomy become part of a single narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is one of the most interesting aspects of Iris: <strong>the experience does not begin when the first dish arrives<\/strong>.
