Edelman appoints Margot Edelman, Radina Russell to critical leadership roles

New York, NY – April 20, 2023 Edelman today announced the appointment of two significant U.S. leadership roles.

Margot Edelman, a third-generation leader within the Edelman family, will oversee Edelman’s New York operation, leading a community of over 800 employees in Edelman’s largest global office. A 12-year veteran of the firm, Edelman has served in a variety of leadership roles across the network, including leading Edelman’s Bay Area office and tech practice, and was most recently Deputy General Manager for Edelman New York.

Radina Russell, who joined Edelman last summer to lead the Atlanta office and serve as a managing director for Edelman Smithfield, Edelman’s financial communications boutique, will serve as the firm’s U.S. Corporate Practice Chair, overseeing an integrated U.S. operation that spans approximately 400 employees across corporate reputation and key specialty areas, including business transformation, employee experience, and social issues & sustainability.

“Together, Margot and Radina represent the best of Edelman – tenacity, ambition, connection, a certain fearlessness, and a desire to operate in the future,” said Edelman U.S. CEO Lisa Osborne Ross. “Margot’s ability to connect clients to solutions, her passion for business development, and her relentless pursuit of excellence make her the right leader for the moment. And Radina has quickly proven herself to be a sought-after C-suite counselor, combining a deep expertise in the inner workings of the boardroom with a commitment to and passion for the issues executives are facing.”

In their new roles, Russell will report to Ross, and Edelman will report to U.S. COO Dave Samson. Russell will retain her role leading Edelman’s Atlanta office.

Edelman succeeds Oscar Suris, who is departing the firm for a new role as the CCO of Duke Energy after over four years at Edelman and its sister agency, Zeno, in a variety of leadership positions. Russell succeeds Jim O’Leary, who left the firm in February.

Both leaders will assume their new roles effective May 1st.
