The collaboration between UDEM and UDIT is creating international experiences that strengthen the global outlook of young Mexican talent in design, innovation and creativity.
International education and multidisciplinary collaboration are becoming key tools for preparing the next generation of innovators. One example is the participation of 17 students from the University of Monterrey (UDEM) in an Experiential Design summer program at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, in Madrid.
Over the course of three weeks, students from Graphic Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design and Marketing are working on solutions for a real-world project in collaboration with Thompson Madrid, addressing areas such as user experience, branding, visual communication and storytelling.
The experience is complemented by masterclasses, professional visits and cultural immersion activities designed to broaden students’ global perspectives and prepare them for international professional environments.
Internationalization has become one of the leading trends shaping higher education worldwide. According to UNESCO, more than 7.3 million students are currently studying outside their countries of origin, driven by the pursuit of academic, cultural and professional experiences that can broaden their global perspectives.
Within this context, initiatives such as the UDEM–UDIT summer program provide young Mexican students with opportunities to develop interdisciplinary skills and an international outlook that is increasingly valued by organizations and the creative industries.
This growing visibility for young talent is also reflected in the recent recognition received by Muqaria at the international finals of the BioDesign Challenge, one of the leading global platforms bringing together biology, biotechnology and design to develop innovative and sustainable solutions.
The award-winning team received the Outstanding Art Prize and includes a Mexican student among its members.
Together, these initiatives reflect the growing presence of Mexican talent on the international stage, particularly in spaces where creativity, innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration are essential to addressing the challenges of the future.
