Planta Accompanies The Launch of The Idea Initiative in Africa the social innovation lab of planned parenthood global

IDEA Initiative, Planned Parenthood’s global social innovation lab designed to identify and implement innovative solutions to address gaps in sexual and reproductive health and rights, launches in Africa.

Partnering with established leaders in the territory, both individuals and locally-based organizations, it aims to continue working to generate breakthroughs, and drive and sustain progress at the forefront of rights movements in general and specifically in the right to reproductive health and rights.

For the launch event, Planta, a digital nomad agency, led the identity development process for the brand new IDEA Africa Initiative. In addition, it was in charge of the creation of the website that hosts the current contents of the project, and the communication for social networks. He also laid the technical groundwork for the livestream of the event via social networks such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, and took care of the visual identity presence for the launch event.

“We feel very privileged to be able to accompany this IDEA Initiative process in Africa. This year, starting June 17, Planned Parenthood Global will develop a six to twelve month pilot to generate synergies from and between diverse ecosystems to co-create innovative solutions that respond to the major challenges for reproductive health and rights in the region, working with courageous, passionate and dynamic people, organizations and companies that invest in disruptive ideas and support the creation of ventures and startups that rely on technology and communication,” says GiGi Gutierrez, executive director of Planta.

It will work in East Africa, Kenya and Uganda, with a possible extension to collaborate with actors across the East African community – Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. And in West Africa with Senegal, Burkina Faso and a possible extension to collaborate with actors in the countries of the Ouagadougou Partnership -Ivory Coast, Guinea, Togo, Mali, Benin, Niger, Mauritania and Ghana-.
