The Coca‑Cola Company announced the launch of ‘Open Like Never Before’, a new initiative that supports neighborhood stores to keep their doors open and help them thrive.
Initiated in response to the current struggling retail environment, ‘Open Like Never Before’ will work with 5,000 stores in Palestine and 50,000 stores across Iraq as they navigate through these uncertain and challenging times.
As the region begins to recover from the truly tragic events of COVID-19, some of the smallest businesses have been hit the hardest. The ever-changing nature of commerce has greatly impacted small groceries and neighborhood stores.
The Coca‑Cola Company will support those retailers to help them overcome the difficulties faced. With personal health and safety as a key priority, the leading beverage brand will donate 750,000 face masks, as well as in-store safety communications to reassure their customers across Iraq and Palestine. Furthermore, to help alleviate the cash flow issues, more than 1.8 Million Coca‑Cola products will be given out for free to those retailers. In addition to this, The Coca‑Cola Company aims to inspire trust and encourage consumers to support their local stores through a social awareness campaign.
Commenting on the initiative, Tolga Cebe, Vice President and General Manager of the Middle East region, The Coca‑Cola Company, said: “With so many small retailers highly impacted and feeling the effects of the pandemic, we felt duty-bound to get involved to provide all the support we can.
The initiative hopes to drive momentum and encourage other businesses and the public to be a combined force of good for businesses and make a real difference together”
