WPP agencies come together in the heart of the Greater Bay area in newly opened Guangzhou Campus

WPP, the creative transformation company, will this month officially open its new Guangzhou Campus – a creative hub that brings together over 500 people across multiple WPP agencies.

This state-of-the-art, collaborative new working space – which joins Shanghai and Hong Kong as WPP’s third Campus in Greater China – is an important milestone in WPP’s plan to make Guangzhou one of its leading centres of excellence. The move means that over 5,000 of WPP’s 8,100 people across Greater China are now working in Campuses. It will be celebrated with an official opening ceremony on February 14, 2023.

The 5,244 square meter Campus is located at M Plaza Tower A in Panzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone, ensuring WPP is in a prime location to support and contribute to China’s thriving start-up sector. The campus was built with flexibility and collaboration in mind, allowing for greater interconnectivity and creativity amongst WPP companies including GroupM (and its agencies Wavemaker, Mindshare and EssenceMediacom), H+K Strategies, Ogilvy and Wunderman Thompson. The Campus, which sits in the heart of one of Guangzhou’s three central business districts, is equipped with the latest, fully integrated technology and has a range of on-site amenities.

WPP Campuses reflect the company’s wider culture and strategy, bringing people and agencies together in world-class, inclusive, creative workspaces while giving clients access to the breadth and depth of WPP talent from a single location. The new Guangzhou Campus is the latest to be created around the world, joining those recently opened in Toronto, Prague, Milan, Detroit and London. In keeping with WPP’s commitment to achieve net zero across its operations by 2025, the building is in the process of obtaining Platinum LEED Certification and has already achieved Gold LEED certification.

Patrick Xu, WPP Country Manager for China, said: “Guangzhou is one of the most important strategic locations for WPP in China, a city uniquely placed to take advantage of the Greater Bay area’s international and domestic opportunities. WPP’s new Guangzhou Campus will serve as a digital growth hub for brands and marketers looking to thrive in the region, ensuring we continue to provide market-leading support to our clients, while creating a communal space that brings the best minds in the industry together.”
