On October 25, Wakii volunteered with Paper Ranger, a Bangkok-based NGO that created notebooks out of recycled paper that are then donated to boys and girls from low-income area, often provinces that have been affected by natural disasters. This inspiring project supports education while taking care of the environment.
During our volunteer experience, we helped make the notebooks. Paper Ranger uses sheets of paper donated by offices, which still have a blank side. The paper is folded and sewn manually into notebooks. With this process, each sheet of paper has a new opportunity to be useful. With creativity and enthusiasm, the covers are then decorated and designed, so that they are attractive to the children who receive them.
Paper Ranger also gave a presentation on its work and philosophy. This allowed Wakii to promote their work and invite them to initiative launch at the Luum Awards dinner in Bangkok on October 30. At this event, Paper Ranger was able to connect with NGOs and international agencies interested in supporting their mission and creating effective partnerships.
Behind each notebook is a story of hope and sustainability; giving a second life to used paper and symbolizing new beginnings.
Thanks to Wakii’s initiative and Luum’s sponsorship, Paper Ranger also received a donation to support their work. This goes to show that when creativity, empathy and collaboration come together, we can multiply change.
