- EssenceMediacom tops the network and agency rankings
- WPP dominates the top 10 agencies list with eight offices from across EssenceMediacom, Mindshare and Wavemaker taking spots
- Mindshare Worldwide, Wavemaker, Ogilvy and VMLY&R all feature in the top 20 networks of the Media 100
Today, WARC (World Advertising Research Center) ranked WPP as the number one company in its Media 100 List 2023 for the sixth year in a row.
EssenceMediacom – which launched in January 2023 following the merger of Essence and MediaCom – topped this year’s network ranking, while its New York office topped the agency ranking for the second consecutive year after winning as MediaCom New York in 2022. WPP dominated the top 10 agencies category, with EssenceMediacom New York, Wavemaker Mumbai, EssenceMediacom Singapore, EssenceMediacom Sydney, EssenceMediacom London, Mindshare Mumbai, Mindshare Shanghai and Mindshare Stockholm all ranking.
WPP agencies were also responsible for half of the client work featuring in the top 20 campaigns list. EssenceMediacom Singapore, in partnership with Grey Tokyo, came in third place overall for Versus, a series of ground-breaking films for P&G’s SK-II to mark the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The animated series celebrates the resilience of female athletes including Simone Biles, Mahina Maeda and Kasumi Ishikawa in the face of societal pressures and the challenges of social media for women.
