In this interview she shares her story about how she got involved and what’s coming next.
1. How did you get involved in the Young Arrows?
I got involved in the Young Arrows when Michael Lenz, the Creative Director of British Arrows, approached me. He had seen some of my previous work and believed I would be a great fit for creating the motion graphics for the awards ceremony. This opportunity came as a pleasant surprise and was an exciting chance to collaborate with talented professionals and showcase my skills on a significant platform.
2. What did you do and how do you feel it went?
I was responsible for creating the motion graphics that were used throughout the awards ceremony. This included creating the animations for the introduction, category transitions, and winner announcements, as well as graphics for the printed materials like the Book of the Night and posters throughout the venue. I feel it went exceptionally well; the feedback from the organisers and attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Seeing my work displayed on such a large platform was incredibly rewarding.
3. What impact do you think this will have / has this had on your career?
Being involved in the Young Arrows Awards Ceremony has been an invaluable learning experience. It allowed me to refine my skills and expand my knowledge in motion graphics by working on a high-profile project. Networking with industry professionals and peers at the event provided insights into the industry’s standards and practices. While it hasn’t directly led to new career opportunities, the experience and lessons learned have significantly enriched my professional development and prepared me for future challenges.
4. What do you think the benefits are of giving young talent opportunities in this way?
Giving young talent opportunities through initiatives like the Young Arrows is immensely beneficial. It provides emerging creatives with a platform to demonstrate their skills, gain experience, and receive recognition. It also helps bridge the gap between education and professional practice, allowing young artists to transition smoothly into their careers. Additionally, it brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the industry, driving it forward.
5. What are your career goals?
My career goals include continuing to have fun and develop my skills in motion graphics and animation, taking on increasingly challenging and high-profile projects. I want to work on diverse and innovative projects that challenge my creativity and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Additionally, I aim to get into teaching and mentoring others, sharing my knowledge and passion with aspiring artists. Ultimately, I want to build a career that combines creativity, continuous learning, and the joy of helping others develop their talents.
